AEX Index Investing History Trend Chart

This page provides our latest AEX Index investing history trend chart that can be used for trend trading in the best index mutual funds and ETF’s that follow this particular European market. The AEX Index graph shows the AEX trends and its highest close ever, how high the AEX has been recently and how low the AEX has been over the last few years. Our historical stock market trend chart for the AEX is based on the AEX historical closing numbers and is the starting point for our free trend trading, long term market timing and safe index fund investing advise. The AEX is the stock market index of the Amsterdam Stock Exchange in the Netherlands.

In the attached chart, the most recent closing values are the ones utmost right on the chart. These are valid for the last trading day of the month. For a detailed explanation of how to read our easy to read free historical stock market index trend charts, see our Methodology.

The blue line shows the closing values of the AEX Index at the end of each month for a period of more than ten years. The peaks in the green and red line indicate buy or sell long-term market timing moments.

 The history of the AEX Index is a good example for why we base our trend trading investment advice on not just one index. Purely looking at the AEX, there would have been a buy indicator in May 2008. However, other major European indices like the DAX and CAC gave already a "sell" indication in February and March 2008. Since the trends of the major indices are very much correlated, our advice related to the AEX in the first half of 2008 was to follow the advice for DAX and CAC related investments.
